On the 1st of March we had the Gold Category Final for the championship sponsored by the Insurance Company Assikura and now on Thursday it will be the Bronze category that will be disputing their final.

These horses raced their heats on 22nd February so that they qualified for the semi finals which were held on the 8th of March and on that day we found out who were the nine horses to participate in Thursday’s final.

This race will be the sixth one of the programme starting at 16:00 hours and has a total of €800 in prize money.  The first four finishers will also receive trophies.

The Gold Championship final was won by 11-year old French trotter Quito de Neret driven by Noel Baldacchino and owned by Mr Cikku Borg. This was his third consecutive victory since his first start in Malta which also happened to be in this championship.  The trophies’ presentation to the winners was done by the Managing Director of Assikura Insurance Brokers Ltd Mr Andrew Grech as well as one of the Malta Racing Club officials Mr Fidel Dalli.
