President's Cup Programme

Tomorrow's racing programme is considered to be one of the most important in the local racing calendar with the running of the President's Cup Final under the Patronage of H.E. The President of Malta Marie Louise Coleiro Preca and which has the aim to collect funds for the upcoming Istrina and the Community Chest Fund.

First race tomorrow starts at 13:15 and the President of Malta is expected to arrive at the track at 15:00.

We would like to notify all owners and drivers that the track WILL BE CLOSED FROM 15;00 TO 15:35 due to the drivers' parade and the Horse Racing Academy children.

The finalist drivers as well as the children taking part in this parade with their ponies have to be in the paddock area at 14:45 exactly after the 5th race.

The owners of the finalist horses as well as the children who participated in the Mini President's Cup Heats and those that will be greeting the drivers have to be in the presentation area after the presentation of the 5th race.

After young Rhiona Degiorgio sings the National Anthem, the President of Malta will be handing out tokens to all the finalist drivers and owners as well as the children of the Horse Racing Academy.

At 15:35 we will have the Mini President's Cup - a shetland pony trotting race driven by the children of the Academy.  Presentations to the winners will be done after the race by the President of Malta..

At 15:55 we will have the parade of the finalist horses.  This parade will be led by the 2010 winner Lucas Ness.  The finalist horses leave the paddock with the blanket already supplied by the MRC in numerical order according to their starting numbers.  They will go up till the main entrance where they will take off the blankets and continue with their normal warm up leading to the race.

The President's Cup takes off at 16:10 and will be immediately followed with the presentations by H.E. The President of Malta.

We urge all those present to be generous in their contributions as their will be volunteers of the Malta Community Chest Fund going round with collecting tins during this racing programme.

Everyone's cooperation will be very much appreciated in order for this programme to be followed as planned.
