The Saint James Hospital Group is once again renewing for another year its commitment to provide its ambulance services to the Marsa Racing Club’s meetings, together with paramedics and staff, whilst also sponsoring The Flat Racing Challenge Cup 2007.

 

Mr. Jean Claude Muscat, Director of Saint James Hospital said that the Group, Malta’s largest provider of private health care services, commented positively on last years experience. The Hospital's willingness to support Flat Racing shows the hospital's commitment to contribute to sports .He also expressed his satisfaction at last years Races which were really agonistic and offered a really impressive and emotional photo finish final. He will be looking forward to a similar competition and invites the public especially those who do not generally frequent the Marsa Race Track to enjoy these Flat Races and also current Trotting Competitions. Saint James Hospital is presently expanding its activities abroad with Clinics being opened in Libya and Hungary thus enhancing the reputation it enjoys even beyond our shores.

 

Dr Matthew Brincat on behalf of the Malta Racing Club expressed his satisfaction at the renewal of the sponsorship for a consecutive year and expressed his wish that other organizations follow suit, in the promotion of this sport. He thanked Mr. Jean Claude Muscat and Saint James Hospital for the trust and appreciation to the Malta Racing Club's efforts to hold more Flat Racing Competitions that would draw more sporting public, tourists and others to the Track.

 

This years Challenge CUP will be named THE SAINT JAMES HOSPITAL CHALLENGE CUP 2007. We have 13 registered horses for this competition that will kick off with the Semi Final qualifying Races next Sunday 27th May 2007 at The Marsa Race Track, the meeting starts at 2pm. The first Flat Racing Qualifier starts at 3pm and the second Flat Race at 4.10 pm respectively .The horses competing in the first qualifier are Black Metal (Fr), Etoile du Pic (Fr), Alassien (Fr), Secondino (Fr), Kindly Alex (Fr), Waterpaint (GB ) and  Kohima (Ire) whilst the Second qualifier sees in action debutant Carillion Rouge (It), Dioganier (Fr), Flaming Ballet (GB), Generous Spirit (Ire), Genievre (Fr) and Peter Com (Fr).

 

The first three qualifiers in each race will qualify to the final whilst the remaining will compete in another Final. Both Finals will be held on The 10th June 2007 together with other Trotting Race Finals on the same Meeting. 

 

The Malta Racing Club invites the general Public to attend this Flat Racing Challenge and thanks its entire sponsor, Saint James Hospital in supporting its initiatives to organize successful competitive events.

The Organizers shall reserve to decide certain conditions to accept participation

4 Horses qualify to Final A.and 4 Horses qualify to Final B from each qualifier.
