Krafft Championship Final

The Final for the Krafft Championship will be raced on Sunday 30th October. This championship was created in 2015 and has become a fixture in the local harness racing calendar. With the exception of 2020 when it was reserved for the Bronze Class, it has always been held for the Silver category over the 2140m distance. Last year saw the best time registered when Derby Chevaleraie driven by Charles Camilleri averaged a very respectable 1’14”8/km.

This year’s edition saw 86 horses enlisted in 8 heats from which 32 took part in three semi finals on Sunday 16th October so that the 12 finalists were identified.

Present for this press conference was Krafft’s local representative Mr Shaun Pete Azzopardi together with Judge Emeritus Antonio Mizzi Chairman of EquestriMalta and Malta Racing Club and Malta Equidrome’s CEO Dr Matthew Brincat.

As is customary in the owners’ presence there were the draws which identified the numbers by which each horse will be starting behind the autostart.
