It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of Charles Clifton. Charles also known as 'il-Haw' was for many years one of the top drivers in Malta and will be sorely missed by all Maltese horse racing enthusiasts. He will surely be remembered as a humble and respected person

The Malta Racing Club will observe a one minute silence in memory of Charles Clifton at tomorrow's race meeting. During his horse racing career as a driver, Charles has won many honours and prestgous finals over the years most famously driving Lionel, Nemo des Bruyers and many others. Surely he would fondly remember the 1993 President's Cup Final driving Sanit to the winning post.
