David Ellul in European Cup for Amateurs

The European Cup for Amateurs or as it is more commonly known the Prix de Saint-Claude will be raced next Saturday at the Vincennes Racetrack in Paris.

Since last year the French Trotting Association has taken it upon itself to invite drivers from countries forming part of the European Trotting Union.

This year the Maltese representative will be 47-year old David Ellul who finished in 8th place in the general driver classification during last season. He won a total of 4 races including the V.O.B. Final with Palazio Valterne.

The race will be the 8th one of the programme and is an autostart one over 2100m having a total of 16,000 Euro in prize money. Eligible horses are those from 7 to 9 years old not having won more than 184,000 euro. The draws to establish who will be driving each horse will be done on Thursday morning which is the same day that Ellul leaves the island for Paris. He will be accompanied by the General Secretary of the Malta Racing Club Mr Anthony Demanuele.

Demanuele will also be attending the European Trotting Union meeting to be held on Saturday morning whilst upon their arrival on Thursday afternoon he will be presenting a token to the Prix de la Valette winner.

Updates regarding these races will be posted on the Malta Racing Club’s facebook page.
