WHAT THE PAPERS SAY....


Sacrobate reports on the Sunday Maltese newspaper "It-Torca" about the 2 Assikura championship finals on schedule today, with a lot of detail and insight on the participating finalists. He also gives prominence to the other 3140 metres long distance races on show in today's card and the two Flat races, a preparation to the forthcoming Mediterranean Derby scheduled on 7th June.

On the other Maltese Sunday Paper "Il-Mument", Kenneth Vella writes in detail about today's races on the cards with particular attention to the Assikura Championship Finals and the two Flat races. In his usual Sunday horse racing coverage, Kenneth Vella also features a detailed report about horse racing in Italy, with particular focus on a new 3 year old Italian horse racing sensation ON THE WAY GRIF. He also writes about the Italian horse MAIN WISE, who recently won at Enghien in France the Prix de Atlantique driven by the famous French driver Pierre Levesque.

From the Galop section "il-Mument" reports about the recent injury suffered by 16 year old jockey Twiston Davies, son of the famous Nigel, winner of both the Grand National and the Celthenham Gold Cup in recent years. Teenager Willie Twiston-Davies became the youngest jockey to win a race on the famous Grand National course and clinch the Foxhunter Chase at Aintree the day after his school broke up for Easter.

On the internet website Malta Star, Lorraine Cunningham writes about Michael Sultana, with her weekly report titled " Two Victories for Michael Sultana in Belgium". Malta Star also reports about today's Assikura Finals and the two Flat Races. She also gives a detailed account of the latest positive dope test reports received by the Club, giving an insight about the prohibited substances involved.
